Georgetown’s home sales rise by 325%

August 31, 2008 at 8:16 am , by Jenel Looney

Just goes to show how statistics can be manipulated to create sensational headlines. Today’s article title is true, but the 325% increase came this week over last week. Last week, you’ll remember, only 12 homes sold in the MLS areas of GTE and GTW. This week, 39 homes sold. This makes sense, since the end of the month is the busiest time for title companies. 14 of the 39 homes are in Sun City Texas. We also had 20 properties that went under contract this week. Of those properties with pending contracts, seven are priced at more than $300,000. MLS activity in Georgetown, TX for week ending August 31
I always pay particularly close attention to Old Town properties that come on the market. I’m working with buyers who are looking for investment properties that they can rent out, so if you know of someone with a small house in Old Town who is interested in selling, be sure to give them my name and number (512-876-6544). Of the 35 new listings this week, not one is in Old Town.
I’ll be hosting an open house at one of this week’s new listings, 30006 Oakland Hills in Berry Creek. (Rachel Logue of Moreland is the listing agent for this gorgeous home.) This is part of a community-wide open house, so there will be lots to see. Come on out this afternoon and say hello. I’ll be there from 2 - 5 p.m. Beautiful Berry Creek home in Georgetown, TX
